Hi I'm Tracy, I have been keeping chickens for about 4yrs. I currently have three Brown Lohmann hens, five Ex Battery hens and a Buff Orpington Cockeral who are a joy to look after, and they make fantastic pets. My chickens are housed in a large wooden coop and not an Eglu, in case you were wanting to see one.
Every morning I look forward to saying hello to my chickens (and they talk back) and collecting the freshly laid eggs, which are lovely on toast!
I live in the small village of Outwood with my husband and my 15yr old Labrador and 7yr old cocker spaniel dogs.
I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm and experience with you, where I will take you through the stages of basic day to day care of your chickens.

Also included in the course is a tour of England's Oldest Working Windmill. Which makes a great day out for the family. Full details of the windmill can be found here:

We had a wonderful morning on this course with Tracy and are feeling much more confident to get ourselves set up with some lovely chickens. It was great to to hear her routine and her experiences and get a chance to handle a chicken for the first time and be shown how to check them over, something which felt so valuable seeing and doing first hand rather than reading in a book. Tracy was a wonderful and informative host, and my husband, 19 month old son and I were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the tour of the windmill at the end too. A lovely way to spend a morning and very worthwhile. Thanks again.
Our host Tracey was lovely. The course was extremely informative. I only wish I had taken the course before I had bought my hen house and hens, however thanks to Tracey I can now understand how to make my current house work better for my girls. I've rehomed some ex batts and so it was great to get an understanding of what 'normal' chicken behavior should be! It was great that the group was small as we were able to ask as many 'stupid' questions as we liked! Loved the goody bag and the tour of the windmill too!
The course was run by the very friendly Tracy who covered all the topics without it feeling scripted. Questions could be asked throughout and it was great to get some hands on experience. Well done Tracy.
Our hostess Tracy StClare made us very welcome and had obviously prepared for our visit. She was knowledgeable and informative and we came away more confident about keeping chickens. The course was good value and covered all aspects of chicken welfare and advice on their accommodation. We would recommend this course for all newbies to chicken keeping.
Thanks Tracy had a great morning at a beautiful venue learnt everything we needed to know about chicken keeping cannot now wait to get our coop and hens. Added bonus was a tour of your lovely windmill in Outwood Village, would recommend this course to all. Tea and homemade pie was delicious
Very informative and good to get some 'hands on' experience of the chickens. Thanks very much.
Mobiles don't get reception out here so make sure you've sorted out your directions beforehand but there is a real windmill in the garden that is hard to miss. Good introduction to chicken keeping: feed, home, handling, bedding, expectations and ease. It is easier than you'd think once you have the right guidance and you will get that here. A lovely couple of hours in a lovely spot.
A very informative and friendly experience. Learnt a lot about how to look after, house and general up keep of chickens. Will definitely be getting chickens. An added bonus a look around the windmill. Thank you Tracey.
