           Very Informative

Enjoyable and informative. Good to see hens loose in garden and interaction between dog (daughters dog) and hens. Fantastic cake.

           Fantastic

It was a pleasure to meet Janet and her hens- it was a lovely, informative, and informal introduction to hen keeping. She provided us with tons of information, and we now feel able to make a more informed decision about whether or not hen keeping is for us. (She gave us some delicious cake too!)

           Excellent

Janet was very friendly and happy to answer any questions about keeping hens. Having the chance to pick up the hens and understand their habits was an wonderful. I felt a lot more confident after the course and I am one step closer to keeping hens. Delicious cake and a cuppa over a Q&A to end the session. Really enjoyable.

           A good start

Short: Great course, host and afternoon. Recommended for anyone thinking about keeping chickens. Long: I have been thinking about getting chickens for a little while now, and random questions to other people about keeping chickens prompted a decision to 'go for it'. I stumbled on the Omlet site after researching plastic hen houses/coops, finding out about the course at the same time. A £15 outlay wasn't bad, so if I decided that keeping chickens wasn't for me, then I wouldn't be too much out of pocket. Even though it was just 90 minutes, I wondered how the time would be allocated. Janet gave us a practical lesson on the chickens, run and Eglu, with hands on experience of handling the chickens. The science-y(?) bit was conducted in the cosiness of the kitchen where a lovely cup of tea was drunk and some blinding cakes were eaten. Janet answered our questions with as much information that she could give, and there were an awful lot of questions from everyone. The course allayed any fears or doubts I may have had about keeping chickens, but we won't be getting any until August, until we have been on holiday. All in all, a good day.

Friendly, open and eager to demonstrate
