The sun is out, the kids are off school, and now is the perfect time to start keeping chickens. Worried about the effect of such extreme temperatures on hens? Don't be, because the Eglu has been specially designed to remain cool in Summer and insulate hens in the Winter. And cleaning couldn't be quicker; rinse the Eglu down with a hose and it'll be spick and span in no time.
Still not convinced? Jennifer Trueland's latest entry in The Occasional Diary of a Chicken-Keeper eggsplains why she chose an Eglu Classic for her ex-battery hens, and why she traded in her wooden house for an Eglu Cube. She said: "The new chickens seemed to like it well enough – and, indeed, so did the old ones. So much for “chickens don’t like plastic”, as when they were integrated and allowed to choose their bed, sometimes all six would try to squish themselves into the Eglu.”
After all that, if you still prefer the traditional style of chicken housing, why not check out our Forsham housing. Beautifully made and built to last, the Boughton and Lenham are fantastic chicken coops!
