What did you feed your hens on Christmas Day? Some dried mealworms? Some leftover sprouts? Well one Eglu owner went one step further and baked some eggstra special treats for her hens - Currant and Mealworm Cakes. Frances Tosdevin used a fairy cake recipe, substituting the sugar for fine cornmeal, and adding dried mealworms and currants. And the verdict? The chickens loved them!
This got us wondering what else people cook for their hens. Do you have a speciality that you rustle up every weekend? Do you bake them a birthday cake every year? Share your recipes with us and you could win a Mega Treat Pack for Seriously Spoilt Chickens. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org with your recipe by Sunday 22nd . We'll publish our top three in the next newsletter.
