A Complete Package
The Eglu Cube comes complete with everything you need to get started including wheels. It is fitted with roosting bars and has an integrated nesting booth. To make collecting your eggs easy, the Eglu Cube has an eggport which gives access to the nesting box.

Easy To Clean
The Eglu Cube makes light work of the weekly clean. Inside chickens have a large roosting area fitted with a slatted floor. All the droppings fall through the slats onto the slide out dropping trays, which can then be simply emptied onto the compost heap.
The lid and back panel can be removed to give good access to the inside of the house for a complete clean. The smooth plastic surfaces can be washed with a hose or pressure washer.

The Eglu Cube is a really flexible chicken house, whether you want to keep 5, 6 or even 10 chickens, you can customise it to suit your needs. The standard 2 meter run is suitable for up to 6 chickens. The run can be extended in 1m lengths to suit your requirements allowing you to keep up to 10 chickens.
The optional (yet recommended) standard 2m run is made from strong steel weld mesh, impossible for predators to break. A unique anti-tunnel skirt sits flat on the ground and prevents animals from digging in. The run has spacious vertical sides and gives your chickens plenty of room. You can extend the run in 1m sections if you wish. The Eglu can be positioned on grass or any other surface such as wood chippings or rough ground where the chickens can rummage.
The unique tunnel-proof panels have been proven in rigorous testing to be fox and badger resistant. The run means that when you are out and about you can be sure that your chickens are safe. The dark green PPE coating is fused to the metal wires ensuring an extremely durable finish that looks great.

Easy Operable Front Door
Letting your chickens out in the morning or securing the Eglu Cube at night couldn’t be simpler. Using the handle on the side of the Cube you open and close the door, locking and unlocking is done in one intuitive movement. No fiddly catches or bolts that don't line up. The Cube also comes with its own ladder so your chickens won’t have to ruffle their feathers whilst walking down to breakfast or climbing into bed.

How much space do I need to keep chickens?
If you want to keep your chickens on grass we recommend that you move your Cube around every so often to keep the lawn in tip top condition.
Ideally your garden should have a fence all the way round, this will prevent your chickens wandering into the neighbours garden and, more importantly, ensure that all the eggs are laid on your side of the fence! The fence should be about 1.5m (5ft) high.
If you do not have grass, it is possible to keep a couple of chickens but you must provide them with a layer of wood chippings to rummage about in as this will provide them with the right type of surface underfoot.

I am in the US and purchased a cube just recently. I absolutely love it! Financially it was a huge purchase for me and I also needed to rent a truck to go pick it up at a shipping terminal. Although I'd never want to do that again once the cube was home and I assembed it (easily) I've enjoyed it very much. It's SUPER easy to clean and the girls love that I move the cube and the extended run around the back yard every other day. I also have a spot that they've denuded where I park them and add shavings, in order to let the grass recover. Then hens are content and I've just been very happy with my purchase. Hopefully some day more people in the States can experience a cube - perhaps by having a distributor and shipping right to a customer's doorstep. That would make a HUGE difference.

This Eglu is brilliant easy to keep clean it looks great in my garden in the countryside, my hens love it now they are use to their new surroundings. The only down side is the area in which they lay eggs this has an open vent in the bottom, good, but this does allow any bedding to fall out or be pecked out from underneath by the hens a fine mesh fitted over this vent would prevent this from happening and would keep more of the bedding inside and not all over the ground. I have purchased a piece of fine mesh which fits perfectly over the vent in question still allowing air to circulate but it keep's the bedding in and prevents the hens from pecking it out from underneath. But it's still a brilliant hen house & run every one comments on it and I'm more than happy with it, I would recommend it to anyone looking to keep hens.

The positives - the house looks smart and is easy to clean out. The negatives - the delivery was mixed up and came in 2 lots, 3 days apart. The house took about 5 hours to assemble, longer than had been suggested. The ladder seems too short. We have made a little ramp which seems to have pleased the chickens.

Do I require any special knowledge to keep chickens?
You'll be surprised how easy it is to keep a few hens in your garden. The Eglu has everything you need to get started and we're always on hand to discuss your worries. You'll also have access to the Omlet Forum where you can swap tips, share problems and meet like-minded people. Do I require a lawn to keep chickens?
Grass is the best surface to keep chickens on, but they can also be kept on a patio or concreted area provided they have a suitable layer of wood chippings to scratch around in.
What happens if I go away for a holiday?
Depending on the number of chickens you have, the feeders and drinkers will hold enough food and drink for two to three days, so if you have the optional 2m run you can leave your chickens unattended over the weekend. Simply leave the door of the Eglu open so they can come and go as they please. The chickens will be fine with the door to the house open in all but the coldest weather.
If you are going away for longer periods of time, you must get a friend or relative to look after the chickens for you - just like any other pet. The Eglu is light and easily transportable, so if they do not live nearby you can simply take the Eglu to them. They will love collecting the eggs and you might find it hard to get your Eglu back!
Will we be breaking local bylaws?
You do not have to contact the council if you want to keep chickens. However, it is worth checking the deeds of your house, which can sometimes prohibit you from doing certain things in your garden - such as putting up sheds, green houses and keeping rabbits or chickens. Any by-laws and covenants are meant to protect your neighbourhood from the disturbance of cockerels crowing. As we only supply female chickens and not cockerels; the only noise you will hear is a gentle clucking as your chickens' search for worms and a satisfying cluck as an egg is laid. So we suggest you ask your neighbours if they would mind, explaining the lack of noise and perhaps a promise of a share of the eggs.

Will the chicken get on with my other pets?
Chickens get on well with most animals including cats, dogs and rabbits. Other pets are often curious at first but soon befriend the chickens. You don't need to worry about the chickens being attacked, they can generally hold their own - a small peck on the nose normally does the trick.
...wire that extends flat from the bottom of the fence, making it difficult for burrowing animals to gain entry. (Unless they were smart enough to start digging a tunnel, a la The Great Escape, but my guess is most foxes aren't big Steve McQueen fans.
