Unlike standard feed, Omlet's complete organic feed has just the right amount of protein for garden hens allowing them to lay more consistently over a longer period of time. Added to this are over 20 natural vitamins and minerals to maintain your chickens immune system, add lustre to feathers and strengthen bones. Carefully balanced levels of carbohydrate and fibre give your hens energy and keep their digestive system working properly. Finally, anyone familiar with the old adage of what goes in must come out? Only the finest ingredients make the finest eggs so organic maize ensures delicious deep yellow yolks and limestone and manganese will mean that the shells are strong enough to keep all the goodness in. Your chickens will love it! If your chickens currently eat organic layers pellets but you want to give this new feed a go you should introduce it into their diet gradually. Simply feed them a mixture of the two foods for a few days, reducing the ratio of pellets to new feed each day, so that you don't confuse the poor dears. I resisted buying this for a while... mainly because the delivery makes it a bit of a premium product. I knew it was a mistake! I got some other food, which the girls pecked at very reluctantly... and I just gave in... and how happy my girls are now!! They just love it..and actually so do I. It smells nice..and mixes in a nice mash..and my girls are happy chicks!!

My girls started off eating the Omlet Organic Chicken Feed but when it ran out, I tried other top brand pellet food and they did eat it but left a lot. Every few days I was topping up the bird table instead of the hen house as the food was going stale. Therefore, when the food ran out, I changed back to the Omlet feed. The girls were literally skipping around the run when they saw the new food. They eat every crumb. There is never any waste. It may work out a little dearer to start with but I save a lot of money in the long run as every crumb goes to my girls instead of the pigeons!

We adopted 5 chickens 2 weeks ago and have served Omlet Chicken Feed from day one. New chickens, new food, fresh eggs...all is well.

I know this feed contains 'everything needed' by the chickens for nutrition and digestion, which is convenient for the keepers perhaps, but, it looks like gritty grey concrete mix! My girls will eat it, but not enthusiastically, more as a last resort if there is nothing else, even if I mix some Garvo special corn mix and Bokashi in with it! Anyone who has seen their chickens go nuts to get worms, good corn mixes, pasta, rice, fruit etc will know that chickens DO care about what they eat and like to enjoy their food as much as we do. Organic or not, we eat to enjoy, and so do our hens! Wish the feed manufacturers would appreciate this not just costs and profits. Have read that hens respond better to this if mixed with water, so will try that.
