Fantastic Quality - Lara, London, 11 March 2014

Being relatively new to chicken keeping (I have just introduced them to my school) I was apprehensive about choosing a breed that would be suitable for small children to be around and handle. Having selected the Pekin Bantams, I ordered 2 hens from Zoe via Omlet and got an immediate response, arranging a day suitable for us both for collection (within a few days). On collection day, I arrived at a beautiful farm where, immediately, I saw well-organised, clean enclosures with a good selection of happy, healthy animals. Zoe directed me to an enclosure with a satisfying number of birds to chose from and, after a helpful discussion about my space, requirements and provision, I ended up taking home an extra 3 birds in addition to the 2 I had bought through the website (she charges less than through the site if you deal with her directly). She made sure the birds I took were a good match and unlikely to fight or get stressed in transit and they have now been in their new home for 4 days. Today was the first day I handled them, and I found them to be calm and friendly and the children are absolutely delighted with them!
