We were considering all kinds of custom or pre-built enclosures before we found the Omlet Catio. It turned out to be perfect for us. It is large, affordable, easy to assemble, sturdy, and it will be easy to take down and move (we are renting).
We home-built a tunnel, connecting to a cat door we installed in a window. Our cat loves being able to come and go, and spending hours outside each day.
Great product and not difficult to assemble (just open all the boxes and lay out all the parts first so you know what's what). It's given us the option to sit with the cats on sunny days (yes we sit in a cage in the garden :-) ) and this has made our two Abys much happier to be outside.
We have a 2x2x2 outdoor cat run so that our indoor Abyssinian can enjoy the outside.
It is extremely strong rigid and secure. We have put it up against a window allowing our cat easy access through the window and straight into the run. To do this we have cut a small hole in the rear of the run.
The run is green so blends in with the landscape and looks attractive on the back of the house. We have added tree branches toys and a waterproof kennel. I’d like to purchase a waterproof cover for part of the roof but these are currently out of stock. We and our cat are delighted with the purchase.
We bought the run when a feral cat (Tom) who had adopted us was seriously injured. We were able to trap him and get him to the vet for treatment. He lost vision in one eye, but his leg healed completely. Unfortunately, Tom was diagnosed FIV positive and couldn't be released back into the colony. He was otherwise healthy, and had socialized enough to periodically allow us to pet him.
After much research, we contacted Omlet. They were very helpful and worked with us as we designed a run and shelter for Tom that could be tailored to his needs and our space. The run we purchased in 9'X24' and gave us room to build a playground full of spaces to get on or under. We love the height of the run that allows cats to climb, and offers ease to us when entering the run to care for him.
We were concerned about finding a run that could be secured in our uneven clay ground and withstand our high winds. We've had more severe storms in one month than we usually have in a year and the run didn't budge even though a large part is enclosed with the Omlet covers - which lasted through small hail.
With the repurposing of the Omlet Eglu Cube and several run and coop covers, Tom also has a weather proof and safe shelter.
The Omlet run is very well made, adaptable, secure, and should last a long time. Everything we ordered from Omlet has been the highest quality and easy to assemble.
We have nothing but the highest praise for Omlet products and customer service! They helped give a new life to a kitty who otherwise might not have had that chance. Tom has a place to live out his life in peace.
We are so happy with this "investment" that we will be purchasing a home for Tom's new neighbor - another feral captured from his old colony.
Love fast delivery ups and excellent quality goods no damage. Very pleased . Cat n rabbit love it although I would recommend concrete base as bunny dig out . Probably dismantle winter if heavy snow.overall worth the money.
This cat run has proved a godsend for our 2 diva Ragdolls, as it maintains their safety while allowing them freedom to outdoors.
Low maintenance run....we built access tunnel from our sunroom window to cat run, so they happily come and go throughout day via cat flap!
Bought covers both clear and green which have proved useful in all this summer rain, allowing them to still go out.
Well worth the money spent, and excellent service/delivery.
Absolutely love this cat run!! This has given our two cats an opportunity to enjoy the outside world whilst staying safe... I quite enjoy chilling in there with them too
I am delighted with my outdoor cat run. Fitting perfectly on my balcony, it has given my rescue kitten some safe outside space and she loves it. As mentioned in other reviews, a bit fiddly to put up but a masterpiece once in place! I'd have another for the back garden if I could find a way to connect it to a catflap in the house- Omlet, please design us a cat version of your bunny zippy tunnel!!!!
Customer service excellent as well. Very impressed.
This has turned out to be great solving the issue of letting the kittens be outdoors but also keeping them safe if I cannot watch them. Was fairly easy to set up. Needed two people for sure. Besides the plastic snaps that hold it together I did wire tie it in several areas to be sure.
For some reason the wire caging is small on the bottom - but larger on top. For kittens is would be better to have it all small since they can stick their head through it. Maybe provide a option if you want order all the small caging?
I continue to add things inside for them to climb and keep busy.
I would recommend it for sure and it looks nice as well.
Our 2 Russian Blues, Marlow and Doey just love there run. They spend hours in it watching the birds other cats and playing with flying insects. I has changed there lifestyle from being indoor cats to being in and out cats. Photos to follow
