Introducing Omlet's first ever Automatic Chicken Coop Door - the safest and most convenient way to let your chickens in and out of their coop has arrived! Designed to work with any wooden chicken coop, it can also be attached directly to the Eglu Cube Mk1 and Mk2. Omlet's automatic chicken coop door opener is battery powered and combines both a timer and a light sensor, giving you the ultimate options for flexibility and control. The unique integrated frame and door design comes with everything you need to attach it to your chicken house or run and has been tested to work down to -20degC. Like a personal chicken coop concierge, the Autodoor will always make sure your chicken’s coop is securely closed at night even when you’re running late.

The Omlet Automatic Chicken Coop Door has a powerful electric motor and metal gear that is directly mounted on the door frame for maximum security. Unlike other automatic chicken coop door openers that work on a string and pulley system, the Omlet Autodoor cannot be simply lifted up when shut. This means that predators will not be able to move the door when it is closed, no matter how hard they try. Your chickens can sleep soundly knowing they have the most secure automatic door in the world.

The light setting uses a sophisticated light sensor to automatically open and close the door at a specific and adjustable light level selected by you. An optional time delay can be added so that the door operates up to an hour after dawn or dusk to suit your flock’s routine. The light sensor has built-in intelligence to recognise and ignore temporary illumination from a security light or torch and will only open after a consistent period of light above the threshold set by you. This ensures that your chickens stay safe and protected at all times and, unlike other less advanced automatic doors, you won’t have any unwanted openings in the middle of the night.

Another way to operate the Omlet automatic chicken door is by using the time setting. This allows you to set an exact time for the door to open in the morning and close in the evening. The advantage of this setting is that you have complete control over your chicken’s environment and you can set the Autodoor to meet your specific daily requirements. The control panel also has a manual function which allows you to open and close the door independently of the time or light settings and, for total peace of mind, there is a built-in failsafe system for opening the door completely by hand.

Four AA batteries are all that is required to power the Omlet Autodoor, negating the need for a nearby power source and additional wiring. The door has been endurance tested under battery power and you can expect a set of batteries to last for a minimum of 6 months.

Really pleased with it but have a question -

I'm delighted with my Omlet Autodoor which I purchased in September 2020. At 83 years of age myself I am not an early riser (actually I never was) and the door enables me to have a lie in every morning. I have one question. Is there a low battery indicator? Can I wait for that to show (if there is one) or should I change the battery when the charge level gets down to, say, 20%? At the moment, after 2 months of daily use, it is at 70%. Thank for your help. The product is worth every penny to me!

Really good! The door works very well and was very easy to install. Very versatile with the options of using it; manual, timer and light sensitivity, brilliant! The only criticism I have is that omelet don’t do a version for the small eglu coop, I have both and would buy one for my other coop if they did it.

A must-have for any chicken house -

The Omlet Automatic Chicken Coop Door is a must-have for anyone who has a few chickens and has better things to do than visit them every sunrise to let them out and again to settle them in every afternoon. Now I no longer arrive at the chicken house to squawking angry birds and I feel secure that I'm not mistreating them. It took just a bowl of spaghetti to tempt them through the door for the first time. Now they let themselves out into the orchard in the early morning. They return to the nest boxes and feeders thoughout the day, and they happily settle themselves as the sun begins to set. The Omlet auto chicken door is very well designed and robustly made. Installation was simple because of the excellent instruction manual and the choice of several different fittings provided. I attached it to wire mesh fencing but it can also be attached to wood, metal, and plastic. The controls (a box with a LCD screen, a light sensor, and 3 buttons) is easy to use. I use the default mode which is triggered by light levels. The door opens and closes smoothly. Using the keypad controller it's possible to open/close and lock/unlock the door. The door can be opened or closed manually (by removing a couple of screws). One function I miss is a display of when the door last opened and when it last closed. This would allow me to check that the open/close light levels were correctly set. But that's a minor thing. I'm happy and the birds are happy with the auto door. Overall, a great piece of kit for any chicken house.

Excellent. Easy to fit and it works brilliantly. No idea why we did not fit one sooner.

Easy to install, clever design. -

My Eglu cube was already in use when I bought the automatic door. It did mean I had to take the roof off to aid access as my knees are a bit dodgy for bending about. It was a bit of a stretch for me to reach the screws but was an easy process once I got them off. The door system is great, the eglu even has holes ready for installation ( see they knew I'd want one in the end!) As things are at the moment, time of year wise, I could probably as easily open and close the door as I'm taking the food away at night, so I'm out early to pop it back in. Once I get a treadle feeder then the door will be fab and I'll get an extra hour in bed. I think it will be amazing in the longer days when my girls will be wanting to get up at 4.30am in the summer. Very happy with it and the timer setting is easy to set up.
