I bought three hens from Raw Green and spoke with both Jody & Dave. They were both very friendly and helpful and had a good selection of POL hens. They helped clip the wings and gave great advice including where to get very cheap feed. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.

We did a chicken keeping course at raw green cottages before making the decision to have hens, which was well worth the time - great location and Jody makes excellent cake! I then emailed Jody when we were ready to pick some hens, changed my mind twice - she was very patient and accomodating! We've had the three girls nearly three months now and they are lovely. Ruby, our Lohmann, lays an egg every single day, quite often double yolkers. Trouble is, I'd quite like a couple more!!

We bought two Miss Pepperpots (Black Rocks) and two Gingernut Rangers (Lohmanns). What lovely hens. Very tame, willing to be handled and happy to eat from your hands (mind your fingers!) Jodie was really helpful, too, and showed us how to clip their wings. Our hens have settled in brilliantly, and are now laying every day.

We found Dave and Jody to be very friendly and very accommodating. Our youngest changed her mind late in the day and wanted a different breed - absolutely not a problem. We got to choose our chickens at leisure. Dave even showed us how to clip their wings, when I asked. Our chickens are lovely girls - they are in beautiful condition and have settled in really well into their new home. We know that Dave and Jody are on hand with help and advice if needed - they even have a facebook group to join, for that extra bit of support!
