The Big Hen Wing Ding costs £25 for a full day, including lunch. Book now and get £5.00 off. For a whole day's activities for poultry keeping, and with LUNCH PROVIDED, you are guaranteed a great day out.
Seminars and workshops will aim at the beginner to more advanced topics, so if you are looking to keep hens for the first time, or you are looking to learn a new skill, such as incubation, this whole day event will be ideal.
On top of this a donation will be made to the BHWT, who we hope will also be at the event talking about their work with ex-battery hens.
The City Cottage is where we show people how to create their own food from their own gardens, and how to make old fashioned things like Sausages, easy cure bacon, how to care for chickens and bees.

The course told us what we wanted to know and gave us the opportunity to experience bees at close quarters. A bit too close for Paul as he got stung a few times. The course was very informal and space for participants in the classroom somewhat limited. However, Paul was interesting knowlegable and humorous. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thanks
Might need to advise future interested parties that the course is very much an overview of beekeeping in general with the opportunity to actually handle bees live. The handling was very much the key point for us.
For just a one day course this was a great day. Paul is a totally natural speaker, friendly & very informative. Bee hive is ordered.
Dear Paul/Diana I just wanted to write and thank you for the very relaxing, informative and highly interesting session you delivered on Saturday morning. Although I was not necessarily scared of going into the hives, I was a little apprehensive. The very calm and relaxed way you presented yourselves however, was very reassuring and gave me a lot of confidence. I even remember noting part way through the second inspection that I had almost forgot the presence of the several thousand bees flying about. Once again, thank you very much for the experience, you have given me the confidence to pursue this hobby further and may I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours. I am particularly interested in the work you are doing with Manchester council and hope this all goes very well. Kindest Regards Tyler
