Make sure the feeder and drinker are full. Omlet supply top quality GM-free layers mash with the eglu, see the feeding section for more info. If it is extremely cold make sure that the water is not frozen and preventing the chickens from drinking. If you have chickens with large combs, it is a good idea to rub them, (the combs!) with vaseline to prevent frostbite.
Open the eglu door to let your chickens out into the run in the morning. If you are going to be around you can let your chickens out of the run to roam free. If you are not going to be there and you can\'t be sure that a fox won\'t get into your garden, it is better to leave the chickens in the run.
Collect your eggs! Regular collection will help prevent any damage to the eggs and discourage your chickens from getting broody.
Check the position of the shade. The shade is intended to protect the chickens from wind, rain and sun so it may need relocating especially if you have moved the eglu to a new position.
