This item is a good price and does what you would expect i.e. provide a good amount of water to your chucks. Be warned though, once full, it becomes quite heavy which would not be a problem if the carry handle had been designed to be strong enough to cope with the item full of water. Mine had not, the handle came off the flimsy plastic lugs and the drinker hit the floor fully filled. This caused the plastic lugs which hold the two parts together to snap off and rendered the whole item fit only for the plastic recycling bin! DO NOT rely on the handle when it is full of water.

The chickens love this and so do I, plenty of clean water always available and wouldn't run dry for many, many days (we do clean and refill it way before it gets low) but it's very low maintenance. Well worth buying rather than the little drink containers which quickly get very dirty and empty...

We bought this so I could add ACV to the girls water. Their Glug water seemed to get dirty very quickly, especially after dust bathing. The drinker is a great size and easy to keep clean, a soapy wash twice a week gets rid of the slime. It is a little hard to undo and do up as you have to grip the dome between your feet to put the top on and slide it into the catches. Mine has leaked a couple of times because I didnt (or wasnt able to) turn it completely closed. Make sure this is done or your chickens will be left without water all day. Luckily I saw the water level get lower and was able to ask my husband to tighten the dish for me.
