I have had my eglu classic for 3 years plus and love it. I keep 4 hens in it and have noticed that I have better egg production than friends with wooden hutches, I think it's because they are kept warmer and have more energy for egg production. Recently a badger started visiting our garden and going over the run fence and every night for a couple of weeks the eglu was covered in badger paw prints but it didn't get in or cause any damage, the badger has now given up visiting the garden. Although this winter has been wet rather than cold we have during the last 2 winters experienced temperatures as low as -20 and the hens were fine and still laying.

I absolutely love my eglu classic and wish I had got one years ago. I have had several wooden houses which were hard to clean out and time consumming but the eglu is so easy to keep clean. They havnt started laying yet but hopefully will share the nest when the time comes!!

After keeping rescue chickens in an eglu cube for some time, i aquired 4 black rock hens and bought a new eglu classic as their new home. They are delighted with it and so am I. Many Thanks from All My Girls.

I just love the Eglu and so do my three Bantams, its so easy to use and clean and is not only fox proof , its Retired Racing Greyhound and Skye Terrier proof. To anyone thinking of buying one or wether you can justify keeping chickens, don't think about it , just do a google image search for caged hens then you have No justification for NOT buying one or keeping hens Brilliant product ,innovative , helpful friendly company , the worm composter will be joining my eglu early spring next year

Very pleased with the eglu as a complete beginner to keeping chickens. I am so surprised how excited I am every time I find a fresh egg. I haven't yet mastered moving the eglu - it is very heavy so i don't move it as often as I would like. It is difficult to reach inside the run to add extra containers for food to keep them out of the reach of the puppy! Though you say the chickens would be perfectly happy inside the run all day they are jolly keen to come out and I am glad I bought the extension kit.

One small fault, bar and pin difficult to operate successfully.

We think the Eglu Classic is a great home for our two new chickens, it is a good size, looks great in the garden, and seems easy to maintain and keep clean. The two doors are easy for my 3 year old son to open and close when checking for eggs and opening it up to let the girls out in the mornings, and the droppings tray is easy to remove to sweep into the compost heap. The glug and grub containers are good too - I like the way they hang off the ground on the run. The only negative I would add is that I find it much more difficult to move the whole thing around to give the grass a rest than the description suggests.

brilliant for cleaning out, easy to move around the lawn, the feeding and water baskets are excellent and the hens are happy. We thought it was expensive but now think it was really good value as it makes keeping our chickens so easy and enjoyable.
