Strasser (Strassentaube)

History

Originally bred a meat pigeon for the table due to its stocky, solid size the Strasser was once described as street pigeon where it’s name originates from. Now mainly a show bird it comes in many colours with the chequered white strasser with a black laced wing making it the most commonly recognised show bird with a worldwide following most commonly found in Germany and less so in southern regions of the world.
