I bought three hens from Raw Green and spoke with both Jody & Dave. They were both very friendly and helpful and had a good selection of POL hens. They helped clip the wings and gave great advice including where to get very cheap feed. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.

We did a chicken keeping course at raw green cottages before making the decision to have hens, which was well worth the time - great location and Jody makes excellent cake! I then emailed Jody when we were ready to pick some hens, changed my mind twice - she was very patient and accomodating! We've had the three girls nearly three months now and they are lovely. Ruby, our Lohmann, lays an egg every single day, quite often double yolkers. Trouble is, I'd quite like a couple more!!

We bought two Miss Pepperpots (Black Rocks) and two Gingernut Rangers (Lohmanns). What lovely hens. Very tame, willing to be handled and happy to eat from your hands (mind your fingers!) Jodie was really helpful, too, and showed us how to clip their wings. Our hens have settled in brilliantly, and are now laying every day.

We found Dave and Jody to be very friendly and very accommodating. Our youngest changed her mind late in the day and wanted a different breed - absolutely not a problem. We got to choose our chickens at leisure. Dave even showed us how to clip their wings, when I asked. Our chickens are lovely girls - they are in beautiful condition and have settled in really well into their new home. We know that Dave and Jody are on hand with help and advice if needed - they even have a facebook group to join, for that extra bit of support!

I got two fantastic chickens who both have very individual personalities and are great too watch. As they were already used to other animals ie dogs, I have had no problems getting the chickens settled (even with a giant dog constantly watching them). My only concern now is what to do with all the eggs!

We bought two hens from Raw Green Cottages two years ago, a black rock and a sussex and they were very productive and beautiful birds. Unfortunately mr fox took them :( but when we decided we couldn't live without hens we had no hesitation in coming back to Raw Green Cottages and we bought a sussex and a blubelle. They are again beautiful birds and are settling in well to the new fox proof run. I also bought some really good value hen feed. I would reccommend Raw Green Cottages to anyone, they always have a good selection of breeds available and are on hand to answer any questions even after your birds go home with you. Great service!

I was pleased with the variety of hens available. Collecting my hens was pretty staightforward and Dave was very friendly and helpful. I could only take 2 at the time as I was adding to my existing hens. My 2 additional hens have been very well and adapted quickly to their new environment. Also laying eggs regularly.

Really, really pleased with my two hens that I collected at the weekend. Both have obviously been well handled as they are extremely friendly and were immediately happy to be touched and picked up. Both have settled into their new home very easily and have lovely personalities!
