National Bee Unit

The National Bee Unit is responsible for the Bee Health Programme in England and Wales, which is set by Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. You might be wondering what does this have to do with you and your bees? Well, the National Bee Unit is at the cutting edge of bee health issues and has a really useful site for advice about beekeeping. They do a lot of innovative research into bee diseases and colony management and then produce information leaflets and practical advice for beekeepers.

Bee Inspectors

They also manage the team of national bee inspectors, who will be happy to visit your hive and inspect your bees with you. You do not need to be embarrassed about having someone more experienced going through your bees with you, all are friendly, informative and only interested in helping you become a better beekeeper.

You can find our who your local bee inspectors are by view in the Bee Health Inspectorate page on their website.
