A unique anti-tunnel skirt sits flat on the ground and prevents animals from digging in. The run has spacious vertical sides and gives your chickens plenty of room. You can extend the run in 1m sections if you wish. The Eglu can be positioned on grass or any other surface such as wood chippings or rough ground where the chickens can rummage.

The unique tunnel-proof panels have been proven in rigorous testing to be fox and badger resistant. The run means that when you are out and about you can be sure that your chickens are safe. The dark green PPE coating is fused to the metal wires ensuring an extremely durable finish that looks great.

The Eglu Cube chicken house in a garden. If you want to keep your chickens on grass we recommend that you move your Eglu Cube Chicken Coop around every so often to keep your lawn in tip top condition.

Ideally your garden should have a fence all the way round. This will prevent your chickens from wandering into the neighbours garden and, more importantly, ensure that all the eggs are laid on your side of the fence! The fence should be about 1.5m (5ft) high.

If you do not have grass, it is possible to keep a couple of chickens but you must provide them with a layer of wood chippings to rummage about in as this will give them the right type of surface underfoot.

Fantastic product - only gripe is Parcelforce! - Julie, Lancs,

I've given the Eglu Cube five stars because this review is about the product. It's a truly fantastic product and definitely a worthwhile investment, especially as my falling-to-bits wooden coops were dirty, draughty and difficult to clean. This is an excellent design, hygienic and so easy to clean out! I was at work when my husband assembled the coop but he seemed to manage fine on his own (although it is quite heavy!). My only criticism is nothing to do with the product or Omlet as a company, who were very helpful - its about Parcelforce, who managed to deliver only half of the coop on the day, then claimed they couldn't find our house the next day, then wouldn't speak to me, and eventually delivered the other half of the consignment four days later. Not the first time Parcelforce have let us down, they are hopeless! But I'm delighted with the Cube.

Needs two - Christine,

Put it together on my own, took about 4 hours, booklet easy to follow, very easy to clean the cube out with the trays. The hens seem very happy. The only snag for me comes when I move it, so much easier with two, one to balance, one to push. My son worries the run clips are not strong enough and tells me to keep an eye on them. I am pleased with it.

- Janette,

Everything went well with construction. Very happy.

Love it but needs adjustments - Jayne,

I purchased a green cube with 3m extension and it has faded in colour not that that detracts at all. I love the practicality of a cube , ease of cleaning and fox proof but it needs adjustments something I didn't think of when I purchased it. When you have the extensions on you have great difficulty getting inside as my husband likes to dig over the soil in the run quite regularly. My chickens don't free range so as I only have four there is plenty of room. We have to have the feeders and drinkers near the door for ease of filling and taking off to wash etc and this causes bickering amongst the chickens, it would be easier to have some feeders under the cube to separate them. We have had to purchase a clear tarpaulin for shelter but as we had such a wet winter/ spring it caused the rain to run down the tarpaulin and straight into the run. The chickens were up to their eyes in mud. I am really happy with it but these problems spoil it. I wanted a hen house and run that looked neat without having to add bits on that make it look a mess. I don't like the fact I cant stand up in the run, I'm only 5ft anyway but the walk in runs are far too expensive.. I hope I win the lottery and then I will buy one.

Couple of niggly problems! - Paul,

We've had the Eglu for some time now and feel that having used it for our girls I can now pass on some practical problems we have encountered. 1) The girls find the ladder difficult to use and are very wary of using it. I think I will have to make them something more user friendly. 2) I don't like the floor provided and have made them some wider wooden perches which they seem to be happier with. 3) the slot in the bottom of the nesting box area allows bedding to fall through, could do with being some sort of removable bung to allow for drainage when cleaning but would prevent the bedding falling through. Having said all that we are generally very happy with the concept and would always buy another.
