hi, my hamster a few times has now been curled up at bottom of his tubes, almost like in hibernation stiff legs, slow breathing , but then will just get up after a while very slowly by its self, and run around like normal,every time this has happened i have been out a night so dont know when it happens, , was wondering on advice if maybe its poorly or if he is trying to hibernate? many thanks

To Sarah. I had this issue this week. Drain the bump if u can. Get everything out. It will smell bad. Put neosporin on it dialy and try to get your ham to drink thyme tea.

Our hamster Cookie has a large lump on the side of her cheek, plus discharge from her eyes and nose. She has lost her appetite as well. Don't have the money for a vet at the moment is there something I can do to help her?

Hey.. So a few days ago I've noticed that my robo hamster hasn't been coming out as much and today I was cleaning out her cage.. She usually runs around really quickly but today she see seemed weak and she is slightly purple and she keeps tumbling over.. I adopted her from pets at home but she was fine but now she dosent seem herself she has lost weight and doesn't seem to be drinking or eating much and she has not been going on her wheel.. I can't go vets as my mum will say it's fine she will probably die but I wanna know if there's something I can do to help her.. Does anyone know what's wrong with her and any solutions..also I'm scared to leave her alone as I'm scared that she will tumble bet and will not be able to get up

Is it normal for there to be bulge like things under the eyes, like bags under eyes? My hamster KitKat has hard looking bumps under her eyes like cheek bones right below her eyes and I’m worried about it.

Hi, my hamster Oslo sadly passed away two days ago. He was not older than 4 months. One day before his death, I noticed he had a bulging eye and has not eaten his food from the day before. He also looked extremely tired but was still able to get up, etc. This was during the night so I had to take him to the vet the next day. The vet told us the eye had to be removed because it had dried up, but apparently he was also dehydrated so we had to heal him from that before any operation. So I went home that night and gave him this water solution (forgot the name) to hydrate him. But I noticed he had more and more trouble getting up. He'd actually fall each time and it almost looked like he was paralyzed. By the end, I was giving him his water with a syringe. Few seconds later he starts shaking as if he was having a seizure and then passes away.. But I don't understand.. The bulging eye shouldn't be deadly. And if I was giving him water I don't understand how he could have died of dehydration... Can anyone tell me what might have been his cause of death because I really do not understand...

My hamster, Yogi is about 2 and 1/2 years old. A while ago his hind legs stopped working well, and he became skinny. He just lost lots of blood due to a bad cut ( that’s how I found him when I woke up ) , and now he has black poo. The cut was today ( January 9 2020 ) at 6:40. He seems lethargic and he still drinks and eats. His stomach seems to be moving or something in his body cuz when I look at him on his back I wee things moving. Please help me diagnose this beautiful old man! ????
