An interesting and enjoyable course. A good opportunity to see both the Eglu Classic and Cube and to see how they work. Lisa was very friendly and patient with all my questions. I would recommend a course with Lisa if you are thinking about keeping chickens. Oh yes you also get to hold a chicken or two!
I was very useful to get an informative view from someone who is keeping chickens in their back garden. Lisa has done a lot of research, learnt from her (few) mistakes and was able to demonstrate first hand the practicalities of keeping chickens.
Attended this course with eldest son in tow. Lisa is a very welcoming host who clearly loves her chooks. We were shown her set up which includes a walk in run, eglu and cube, got to have a cuddle with some of her girls and viewed her chook supplies. Lisa is extremely knowledgable, giving us a run down of chicken keeping, coop cleaning and maintenance, hygeine and health care. The course went on longer than the advertised time and was excellent value for money. We came away with some bed time reading including omlet material and Lisa's own tips and shopping list. If I have one gripe it's that Lisa wouldn't let us take away Buffy her buff orpington!! A gorgeous chook!
Many thanks Lisa for a fab morning!
We had been talking half seriously about keeping chickens for some time so decided to look for an introductory course. This morning was just the ticket.
Lisa started most sensibly by showing us how to actually pick up a chicken! Then went on to show all we needed to know to get started with a very practical hands on approach, followed with a garage talk and a shopping list.
We finished with coffee and questions, all that remains now is to actually obtain some chickens. I am sure that Lisa will help point us in the right direction for that if necessary
We have been thinking about keeping Chickens for a while so we decided to find a course through Omlet. We are so glad we booked a course with Lisa, she answered all of our questions, took us through all aspects of Chicken Keeping and gave us extra material which is proving to be very useful.
We have already bought our coop and are in the process of buying all the other bits & pieces we need before getting our Hens.

A great morning. Lisa had a very common-sense approach and practical simple solutions to any questions we had. We were given a shopping list and simple week by week instructions. I have since got my chickens and have several questions which I have emailed to Lisa, as I know she'll have the answers. She also followed her course with an email answering a couple of questions that she was unable to answer on the day. Excellent service throughout.
We thoroughly enjoyed the beginners course to chicken keeping. It was practically orientated and we all now feel confident in knowing how to look after chickens; what to feed them, how to handle them, how to ensure their health and look out for signs of illness. It was very useful to see the Eglu Cube too and get good tips about buying supplies and products locally.
Would highly recommend! We had a fantastic morning of hands on with the chickens and lots of really useful info. A tour of the garage store of chicken stuff, does and don'ts of purchases!
Lisa loves her chickens and this shows through with her enthusiasm. She gave us heaps of info and advice, answered everyones questions and has since kept in touch to see how our ladies are doing.
The morning ended around the garden table with tea, coffee, muffins and biscuits, and more chicken chat! Lisa says she wants to do a cream tea next time, tempted to sign up again for that!
Many thanks Lisa and Omlet.
Lisa and her husband are very welcoming and friendly. We asked loads of questions and she answered all our worries and doubts professionally and easily. We are still talking about Lisa's 'girls' particularly Buffy who we both adored. We came away with lots of useful information and websites for buying feed and stock. and useful tips that we had not thought of. Neither of us wanted to leave it was such a good morning - we would thoroughly recommend anyone wanting to keep chickens to go on a course through omlet.
Lisa and her family were very warm and welcoming. We had hands on experience with both the Eglu and the Cube, and shown how easy it is to pull apart and clean. Lisa is very passionate and experienced in keeping chickens, giving lots of valuable advice. She covered everything we needed to know about keeping chickens, including what to buy (and what not to waste money on!!). We were also fortunate to see some fluffy baby chicks too.
Great hands on experience (I held my first hen!!); I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone thinking about having chickens.
