When I first got my hamster she bit my mom once but never me. She was always calm and we put her with my sister and he always fought her at first but then they were fine. Never fought and she would let you hold her and love her. However my sisters, he would bite like he was territorial of her. Didn’t know we had two genders. The pet store didn’t know sex, i dont know how. But she got pregnant and after we separated them my sisters hamster became fine and we put him in a smaller cage and he got fatter and fatter so we had to switch them cages when we got down to the last three maybe it was two babies. My hamster would let you pet her some. She calmed down. Or so I thought. Soon she became to bite and CLING on. Once you hold her it’s okay. But you can’t even grab her. She bites on her cage she grabs at me when I drag my finger down the cage to get her to stop. She CLIMBS it and bites. I’ve put a little olive oil on it for now until I can take the cage apart and clean and spray it. But I know it will be hard to get her out of the stupid cage. It’s like she bites it for my attention. I dont know what else to do

Hello. I recently bought two dwarf hamsters that I assume are fairly young as the store only had them for two weeks before purchase. My sister and I were able to hold them before purchase and interact with them to determine their personalities and tameness. They were super sweet and didn’t nibble at all. So my sister and I purchased two and brought them home. We setup a 120 gallon tank with hay bedding and lots of popsicle stick toys and crafts for them to entertain themselves with. Along with that, they had a wooden wheel and sandbox. After about a month of having them, one really started to change. She first started to nibble your hand gently, which I figured was do to smells, like lotion on my hand. But as time progressed, she started to bite and eventually draw blood on my hand. I don’t know what caused her to gradually become aggressive, especially since my sister and I never mistreated or held them incorrectly. I would lower my knuckle into the cage for them to first smell before attempting to pick them up. Eventually it came to the point where I had to wear gloves to pick up my hamster. After about 2 weeks of this behavior, she suddenly fell ill (Urine on her bottom, excessive pooping (not diahria) falling over when trying to walk, and acting sleepy). This all hit her over a matter of hours and she ended up dying within 2 or 3 hours after these symptoms. I have no idea what went wrong or what happened? And I fear my other hamster is doomed to the same fate as she has started the aggression too. Does anyone have any answers as to what this is? I also fed/feed my hamsters a natural diet of seeds, vegetables, and recently a natural salad meant for hamsters. I also drop one drop of a natural immune support solution into their water once a week. Again, I don’t know what went wrong? If anyone has answers, they would be much appreciated!

We have a 6 month old hamster, she has been handled daily and is fairly tame. We have had to remove all the bars from the sides of her cage as she chews them to a point she will cause herself injury. We had bought her wooden chews which she never touched. We recently bought a wooden cage for her which was a lot bigger, however she immediately started chewing it and we had to take her out as she caused significant damage in a short space of time. She is becoming more destructive and seems to be almost hyperactive. Any ideas anyone?

I have a blackbear hamster . she has been handled once she is in your hands she is fine. however, she is possesive and aggressive to the point that she lunges at me even if i walk past. It is tearing me apart that i can;t interact with her. i have never regretted getting a pet more than this. I am mentally destroyed by this,. I am at witts end i dont know what to do. she is in a large aquarium. one you would use for lizards. i cant keep dodging inconsistent behaviour. One day she is fine the next psycho. Please help me. I have been told to try CBD cat treats. but i'm at a loss. i need help badly. I really dont want to give her back to the store.

My hamster is usually the kind of hamster to sleep all day and run at night. Not that its change but at night she is getting a lot more hostile and agitated and running around like a lunatic and has never done this before. She has barely touched her food i three days so maybe i thought she didn't like the food or something like that so i tried feeding some out of a spoon to let her know that its okay but she got picky and she would start chewing on the plastic spoon , i don't understand what is causing him to behave like this and it makes me nervous because i wish i knew what was wrong so i could fix it without him getting hurt and i hope he isn't starving and there is water. Do any of you have any idea what could be going on.
