My parakeet is around 8 years old he has been in great health all his life. His partner is a 15 year old cockatiel and they get along fine. I took my parakeet to vet he has a lung infection chirps all night and day he has good days and bad. He is on medication but I feel he is holding on for dear life to keep his partner company . As I see it he may be dieing a slow and agonizing death. Right as I feel he is pulling thru I see him sicker.

So I bought a budgie from PetSmart, where I get most of my birds. This one was still young and the gender was still undetermined. Well, after about five days after purchasing it, I came home and found it dead. It was still in quarantine from my male budgie. I noticed that it had blood on the cere - dried - the day I got it. It looked healthy when I saw it - sleek feather, interactive - and when I examined it later, I saw that it had died while clutching the bottom of the cage - almost as if in pain. Can someone please tell me what killed my bird?

Our budgee, a femail, after laying about ten eggs, all of a sudden, avoided putting her left foot down. After two weeks we took het to vet and was diagnosed by some internal inflamation and got two drops one anti-inflamation and one antibiotic. After four weeks, the fingers on the same foot started to bleed, sometime very badly and stop bleeding for while. The tips of fingers dusappearing and we are very worry for her as bleeding starts again after a week. We are tsking her to vet tomorriw but wanted to know if anybody has has same experience. Thanks,

My budgie has all of a sudden stopped talking . She used to talk for hours but not now , she is also very quiet and does not play like she did . She has her freedom we only shut her in at night but she does not want to come out as often as she did . I am worried . The vet in my area does not seem to know a lot about budgies . What can I do ? Donna, I have the same problem as you. My budgie is also 5 and acting just like you said. Since your comment was posted on the 2nd, is he better now? Did you take him to the vet?

My new budgie fries and my other new one ari both are acting up. Fries is breathing though her mouth and ari is very depressed. Before you reply please note my parents don’t bring them to the vet, silly I know. But their reason breaks my heart. Their reason is because they don’t wanna spend 100+ on a 20$ bird, which is understandable but just breaks my heart. Thanks for any help- love from canada

Not a comment but I need help with my new parakeet I just brought her home yesterday most of her tail feather is gone she has a dirty bottom with no feathers around it and I've witnessed her rubbing her bottom on her perch a few times and right above her cere it is a little bit crusty looking but the pet store lady told me that is normal for a female she's constantly grooming her bottom area. Does anyone have any idea what should I do?

Hi guys,I’ve had two new budgies around my older one. I’ve had the new two for at least 4-5 months now and the older one for about a year now. One of the two, Yuki, has been making a weird sound almost like coughing or sneezing. I don’t know what to do. Please help!
