Our budgies are nesting together and sometimes the male will not let the eggs go to full term and why is this?

Hi I hope you or someone can help me I have two parakeets (Max and Birdie) they are breeding at the moment several times. but so far she hasn't had any eggs I put up a nesting box just in case so she didn't end up laying on the bottom of the cage I also put in a cuttlefish and a mineral block in her cage she's been messing around in her box trying to make a nest and even lays but she never lays any eggs I'm just wondering if anything could be wrong?

I got 6 bungies from a hoarder and one of them had 3 eggs but she abandoned them when we git her in the flight. My female had no male and was sitting on 2 infertile eggs so I pulled her eggs and replaced them with the good ones. Only one hatched. Now it's 7 days old. Every time I check the baby is on it's back. Will it develop normally without other hatchings to help hold its head up or lean against?

Hi Fran - I read your comment about Huey, your blue parakeet. How is he doing now? Were you able to take him to an avian vet? I hope you and your parakeets are doing well. Best Wishes!

I have two birds brought as siblings for about 4-5 months. Now they have three eggs. She has started since 3/29,then on 3/31 and the most recent 4/2/21...She's been nesting them without a nesting house.I brought a bigger cage and have not able to move them because I am concern with the eggs. What should I do?

Do you have to have a nesting box for the female to lay eggs.

I am a 74 year old widow who only drives in my small town. My male parakeet (approximately 1-1/2 yrs old) got spooked in his cage and damaged his right wing, We only have one vet in town and she does not treat birds, He dislodged two feathers on his right wing both white tipped in black, He is eating normally, and chirps to the female in a separate cage, and plays. He is blue. However, when he tries to fly in the cage he drops like a stone, He realizes he cannot fly and either hops on perches or food and water bowls or climbs in the cage, Will the damaged feathers eventually fall out and new feathers arrive, The nearest vet that treats birds is over 100 miles away and with the coronoa virus outbreak a friend taking me will not happen, Will my Huey be okay?

This morning I saw my budgie’s four eggs had been tossed to the bottom of the cage. She has been sitting on them for about two weeks. What would make her do this? Should I leave them in the cage or discard them? I don’t really want my two birds to breed, would it be cruel to remove the ceramic birdbath she’s nested in so she doesn’t lay more eggs?
