I just got a budgie about 5 days or so ago and he is scared every time I try to pet him and runs away or freaks out he lets me feed him millet though but it seems impossible that I am going to be able to get him on my finger. Any tips would help! Thanks!

We found a parakeet in our backyard a week ago. We live in the Houston TX area and this has to be someone’s pet that escaped or was let go. The bird seems to be healthy and after searching for her owner with no luck, we are keeping her. The problem is that she is very skittish and won’t eat anything but seed. Not sure we can change that since she seems to be an older bird (eye color and no markings on forehead). I keep offering all of the veggies and fruits suggested but she won’t touch them. I crushed some pellets and mixed in with a bit of seed. Hoping she is getting more nutrition that way.

I have let my budgie out of his cage for the first time today and he flew straight into the walls and landed on the floor! He seems fine although rather stunned! The curtains were closed and no mirrors around so rather worried about letting him out again. He flew straight from my hand into the room

Hi, I have a five months old parakeet who is very aggresive. He would chew his toy ladder, at times just drops half of the food from his feeding bowl. Would I ever be able to tame him.

Don't give them so much millet Susan. Use millet as a lure and treat. They will pick the millet over seed all day everyday.

I have budgie they are at least 6 mo old. They're all together so taming is timing. I got another budgie and he or she is in a separate cage across from the others. This particular lil one perched on my finger as soon as I brought it home. Very sweet and seems like it knew me for ever. He she is small and beautiful. My question is. I's it good to keep them in the same room? Because I really have a feeling this is the one that will mimic and tame easily. I just don't want the other budgies to interfere. Though i'll spend time with an at different times. Im hesitant about same room. Is it a good idea? I have just got him tonight and he already went to the salad and tomato ate pellets and seemed at home. Where as my other budgies took at least a month to eat lettuce Definitely are everything else lol. Need advice! Thank you

I have had my budgie for 7 mounted but she still always flies back to her cage when I get her out. She is still pretty young (her nose hasn’t changed color yet). How should I fix that
