I have an almost 8 y/o parakeet who’s bottom seems to be swollen, she eats, drinks her water and plays just fine but I am concern about the swollen spot on her bottom. I have not taken her to a vet yet, Any advice or suggestion ?

I bought 2 budgies from Pet Smart, a local store in my state, Alabama. One just dropped over and was dead within an hour. We brought them home in the box issued by the store. We tried to watch the other one but he seemed ok. Store replaced the one that died but I wonder what the problem could have been.

My little parakeet has problem with his wing , he has problem to fly, I took him to vet today and exray cost around $ 700, that I can't afford, she give a medicine for pain Azithromycin susp 40mg, I Google and I didn't see this madicine 0.01 ml is for parakeets safe.

I am in a rural area and it seems most "just don't do birds". Thank you for providing information and triage care for sick birds.

My friend's parakeet has a growth in the the lower abdomen. It appears to be a egg but it's not. It's soft and doesn't appear to be bothering her. If it is a undeveloped egg it's not coming out the right place.

My parakeet has some black on her nose with a slight redness to it. She eats and drinks just fine…I am worried for her any help would be great!

My parakeet has been laying on the bottom of his cage, he isn't eating or drinking, and he is breathing heavily with his wings spread. He isn't old, we got him a couple months ago

My bird had swelling in both the eyes along with runny nose from past one year. We tried various medicines but there was just some temporary decrease in the symptoms. The day before she died, she was very sleepy and didn't eat anything. Next day we found her dead in the cage. One more important point is that it was very cold from past few days. My bird was Alexanderine Parakeet and she was 7 years old. Can anybody tell me what might be the cause of her death ?

Budgies are too delicate they get infected and die so quickly could that be the nature of the bird. Am thinking alot has gone wrong with the kind of breeding going on, that’s producing birds that fall sick easily. What do u think?
