Beveren History


This breed was founded in Beveren, Belgium during the 19th century. The Beveren breed was developed for its fur pelt. It was developed by crossing the Brabanconne, the St. Nicolas Blue, and the Blue Vienna. In 1902 the breed was officially recognised and it was first shown in 1905 in Norwich, UK. In the 1920s this breed was bred primarily for its pelt, with the white variation being the most popular.

This breed weighs between 4-6kg.
